A cowboy finds himself suddenly thrust into the city of Alessandria, Italy, in a very different context from his own.

We observe him navigating his daily life in our times and spaces.

A mysterious, striking, almost carnival-like character who walks the streets and borders with a persistent, folkloric, and dancing demeanor, as if he’s stepped out of a social media reel. His presence in space is ironically lost but paradoxically playful, especially as he explores the most chaotic and critical areas of the city, without the slightest reflection on them.

As he embarks on his journey, our empathy for the protagonist is intermittent: at times we feel it, but at others it contrasts with the environment around him.

Who is this figure? What is he trying to tell us? And why is he among us?

The cinematic (and also real) stereotype of the cowboy refers to his perennial nomadism, his independence, and his detachment from communal spirit.

His descent and movement through our urban context suggest that the cowboy may not be so far removed from the individualism we are accustomed to.

Upon reflection, we are not so different from him: a jacket, a hat, and a popular dance project us directly into the imagery of social media, of fun, of attention-seeking in a cynical and indifferent reality.

It is here that time intrudes on critical, uncomfortable scenarios, clashing with our protagonist. His downward and distant gaze toward what surrounds him becomes a metaphor for humanity’s neglect, ever more indifferent to the uncertain rhythms altering our planet—an ironic ending where everything seems like a mere simulation of a possible tomorrow.
