synopsis
Kartoon is an interdisciplinary and collaborative installation, inspired by Riccardo De Simone’s animated film and Alessandro Vicard’s score.
An oversized plastic sheet becomes a dystopian/utopian landscape for Riccardo De Simone’s dance intervention.
This results in three overlapping dialogues: between media and materials, between static form and movement, between the dancer and his creatures.
Kartoon shows the birth of a creative idea, an abstraction that develops step by step into a real body in space and time.

Riccardo is a multidisciplinary dancer and artist. His practice mainly integrates performance and visual arts, producing evocative images that explore the relationship between the human body and the body as object.
